Hey everyone, I recently underwent egg retrieval and now I’m eagerly waiting for my period to show up. I have been wondering how long it typically takes for menstruation to return after the procedure. Can anyone share their experiences or insights on this? I’d love to hear from those who have been through a similar situation or have any information to offer. Thanks in advance!
It took 14 days after my first retrieval. I expect the same 2-week recovery time after my second one.
I had mine two weeks later, to be exact.
The nurse said my husband’s egg retrieval would be in a couple of weeks, but mine was on day 8 after the trigger with dual triggers being used.
It took about 2 weeks.
I employed a dual trigger and it took a total of 7 days for all 5 retrievals to be completed.
My wife’s most recent cycle had her period starting after 14 days, but the embryo transfer took place just 2 days after the egg retrieval, leading to unexpected results. I am curious about your process, as it appears to differ from ours. Do you typically wait for the period before doing the embryo transfer?
With just the Lupron trigger, I found it to be quicker (one week for me). However, when I used HCG triggers, it took a bit longer for me; about two weeks.
My menstrual cycle began five days post my emergency room visit.
I got my period 10 days after the egg retrieval procedure, with the egg being retrieved on the 12th day.
Each time it took me around 10-11 days, which my doctor said was within the normal range of 7-14 days.
It looks like my period arrived 10 days after using Ovidrel, which is sooner than expected. This may mean waiting another cycle for transfer depending on my PGT-A results. I’ve heard that the second period after a trigger can be late as things take time to normalize.
My retrieval took place on May 9th and I experienced my menstrual cycle on May 22nd after using Ovidrel and Suprefact for triggering.
Using an HCG trigger, even with Lupron, typically results in a wait of 12-15 days post egg retrieval, whereas using Lupron alone results in a shorter wait period.
The time between the first and second retrieval was 9 days and 13 days, respectively. It appears to differ significantly from individual to individual.
Around 14 days after my ER procedure, I didn’t get my period for 3 months. It’s normal for your body to be irregular for a while after the first bleed. Your clinic can perform an ultrasound and bloodwork to check for ovulation, or suggest hormone birth control to induce a bleed.
I received mine precisely a week and 3 days later.
