TTC Through IVF: My Rollercoaster Journey

Hey everyone! I’m sharing my personal experience with IVF. It’s been quite a ride - full of emotions, hope, and uncertainty. After a year of trying to conceive without success, my husband and I decided to explore IVF as our next step. The process has been both physically and emotionally demanding, but also incredibly rewarding. From the initial consultations to the hormone injections and egg retrieval, every step has been a mix of nerves and excitement. Now we’re in the waiting phase, and the anticipation is both thrilling and nerve-wracking. I’d love to connect with others going through a similar journey or anyone who has been through IVF and can share their insights and support

Thank you for asking, it’s a great start to being a supportive partner. Check out other similar posts on this sub if you don’t get immediate responses. Please avoid referring to it as “her IVF journey” as you’re in this together. This is for both of you equally as you’ll both be parents to the child. Good luck!

FTD here! Congratulations on starting the IVF journey! It may be challenging, but you’re in good hands. Remember to ensure she stays hydrated before and after retrieval to avoid OHSS. My fiancée still takes vitamins to support her baby. Avoid direct heat on her stomach or hip area in the first trimester. IVF may bring up many questions and changes, but try to stay calm and don’t hesitate to contact your doctor. Cramping and spotting are common before and after retrieval and implantation. Sit is something to be concerned about, so contacting your doctor is important. SCHs are common but not guaranteed to happen. Trust your instincts and reach out to your doctor if needed!
