I’ve been on birth control for a few months now, and it seems like my battle with insomnia has intensified. I’ve never been a great sleeper, but this new level of sleeplessness is really taking a toll on me. I find myself tossing and turning, unable to shut off my mind even when I’m exhausted.
I’ve read that hormones in birth control can have an impact on sleep patterns, but experiencing it firsthand has been challenging. I’ve tried different relaxation techniques, adjusting my bedtime routine, and even cutting out caffeine, but nothing seems to be helping.
Has anyone else experienced a link between birth control and insomnia? How do you cope with it?
I consistently woke up at 2-3am during my time on birth control and stims, often finding it difficult to fall back asleep. I plan to switch to a clinic that doesn’t require the pill before starting stims, as I strongly dislike taking birth control.
Consider changing your pill for the next cycle. I had a positive experience switching from Isibloom to Yasmin - no insomnia, acne, fatigue, or moodiness. Yasmin has made me feel like my normal self again.
