I suggest asking your clinic for recommendations. Our clinic suggested Alto pharmacy for discounts, so we price quoted others as a double check but ultimately chose Alto. Ensure it is self-pay pricing if your insurance does not cover medications. Our total cost was just under $7k.

I’ve heard of a Facebook group called “IVF garage sale” where you can purchase medication at discounted prices. My friend had success buying gonal-F pens for a fraction of the cost from the pharmacy. I haven’t used it myself, but it seems like a good option.

There are international pharmacies that offer IVF medications at a lower cost, such as Fertifarma in Mexico where we paid $3500 for our meds. There is also a Facebook group called IVF Garage Sale where people sell or donate leftover meds at a discount, allowing for potential savings of around $1500 for all needed medications.
I preferred using the 300 iu dose over the 900 iu dose for Gonal F or Follistim because both have excess medication that needs to be used up before starting a new pen. I found that using the 300 iu dose allowed me to avoid wasting money on unused medication if I opened a new pen towards the end of my treatment. I was unaware that an opened pen or cartridge should be used within 28 days, mistakenly thinking I could save it for a second egg retrieval two months later. (I can’t remember which one between Gonal F and Follistim is the prefilled pen or the cartridge).
Alto Pharmacy was a more affordable option for my medication, costing $4000 for a range of items. The total value was $12,600, but I saved $8700 by using Alto Pharmacy.
I find it interesting that Ivfpharmacy.com is from Israel. They offer 10 vials of Menopur for $380 and the largest pen of Gonal for $470, with delivery in approximately 5 business days.
