Struggling with Mild Stim, Thoughts on Preimplantation Genetic Testing?

Hello everyone,
I’m feeling a bit lost and would love to hear about your experiences with mild stimulation IVF. Also, if anyone has opted for Preimplantation Genetic Testing (PGT), I’d appreciate some insights. Feeling a bit overwhelmed, so any advice or support would be greatly valued. Thanks in advance!

This being my first time going through IVF, I acknowledge that my experience is limited compared to others here. We debated on PGT-A due to time constraints and the desire to increase our chances sooner. The thought of potential losses weighed heavily on our decision as well as the cost of transferring non-viable embryos.

I believe PGT-A testing is beneficial for me at 38. For low stims, more information is needed (such as your numbers) for accurate feedback. This testing may be useful for individuals with Diminished Ovarian Reserve (DOR) or high Anti-Müllerian Hormone (AMH) levels.

At the age of 38, it is definitely worth considering doing a PGD test. Personally, I would recommend opting for a regular stimulation cycle over a mini one for your first cycle.

I believe there is validity to the idea that a rigorous stimulation protocol can impact egg quality. This was my experience - my first egg retrieval resulted in 16 eggs but only 3 blasts, with no euploids. The second retrieval with lower medication doses yielded 10 eggs and 4 blasts, ultimately resulting in a euploid. Quality over quantity can lead to success. Good luck!
