Struggling with Hashimoto's and Its Impact on My Fertility

Hey everyone, I’ve been navigating the rollercoaster of Hashimoto’s and its effects on my fertility journey. It’s been quite a challenging road, and I’m wondering if anyone else here is dealing with similar issues. How has Hashimoto’s affected your fertility, and what strategies have you found helpful in managing it? I’d love to hear about your experiences and any advice you may have! Let’s support each other through this tough but important topic.

I have Hashimoto’s and manage my TSH levels with levothyroxine. I have done two natural FETs using just a trigger and progesterone with no extra protocol. The first resulted in a live birth and the second ended at 19 weeks. I attempted a medicated FET initially, but the estrogen caused issues with my body and thyroid, leading to a failed outcome.

I suspect that my fertility issues were largely influenced by my past experiences, especially with the first egg retrieval which I attribute to the doctor. The second retrieval went much smoother due to changes made. The frozen embryo transfer using a modified natural protocol was successful, despite adding an estrogen patch and PIO daily, even though I was already ovulating and producing progesterone. My stims protocol consisted of a typical antagonist protocol with 225 gonal, menour, and cetrotide daily, as well as a dual trigger with hcg and lupron, and the addition of omnitrope.

There is no specific information provided. TSH levels were tested with positive results and monitored monthly by a general practitioner, not the clinic. The medicated FET using estradiol and progesterone was successful for both transfers. This has not been a concern.

Hello! I discovered I have Hashimoto’s during fertility tests after experiencing 2 chemical pregnancies within 24 months of trying to conceive. Despite not having any abnormal TSH results or symptoms, my TSH levels were tested at 4 weeks into our first IVF transfer, prompting my fertility doctor to immediately put me on levothyroxine once my TSH reached 3.7. It’s possible that your dosage may need to be adjusted if you become pregnant. Were your TSH levels tested along with your betas? I was also advised to take baby aspirin for preventative measures. Wishing you all the best!

Hi, I know a person with Hashimoto’s. She had 2nd time success with IVF.
