We first borrowed from Future Family after seeing a flier at our clinic. The counseling with nurses was helpful for our first time. We borrowed enough for 1 cycle, but it didn’t work out. So we took out a personal loan with a lower interest rate and used half of that to pay off Future Family. Additionally, I withdrew some savings from a CD.
After getting married in 2023, my husband and I began saving for a baby in a high yield savings account. Two years later, with no baby on the way, we had enough money to cover our first IVF cycle, thanks to our contributions and accrued interest. Unfortunately, my health insurance doesn’t cover infertility treatments, so we continue saving at least $500- $1k each month for potential future cycles. Thankfully, we are both high earners and fairly frugal.
