I recently underwent an egg retrieval procedure and now my period is way late for my next cycle. I’m feeling a bit anxious and wondering if anyone else has experienced this? How long did it take for your period to show up post egg retrieval? Any advice or insights would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for sharing your experiences!
I can’t believe it! My cycle lasted 38 days right when I was supposed to do my FET. It feels like unnecessary torture. I don’t understand why the clinic didn’t warn me, it’s such a common occurrence. Wishing you all the best of luck xx.
Yes, if you check other posts in this subreddit you’ll see others mentioning the same issue. After two consecutive medicated IUIs, I experienced a slightly longer cycle (4 or 5 days). Now in the cycle following my egg retrieval, I’m curious about when my period might come. I think our bodies are adjusting to the decrease in synthetic hormones from the treatments, causing a delay in hormone production. Eventually, the period (unfortunately) usually comes.
I appreciate this and realized that many others have also made similar comments. It would have been nice if the clinic had warned me about this beforehand! 
I appreciate it, I think it’s just a matter of waiting and hopefully I can begin FET in the upcoming cycle.
This situation is a common occurrence. I too was surprised by the lack of warning from my clinic. It may be helpful to reach out to your clinic as they may be able to prescribe medication. My clinic provided me with a trigger shot after discovering I hadn’t ovulated, and as a result, my period arrived two weeks later.
This constantly occurs with every ER visit. The second cycle always lasts 10 days longer than normal.
