Struggling to Cover Lupron Costs, Anyone Have Success with Insurance?

Hey everyone, I’ve been struggling to cover the costs of my Lupron injections. Does anyone have experience getting insurance to cover Lupron? I’d greatly appreciate any advice or tips you may have. Feel free to share your experiences and insights here!

My insurance has covered two doses for me up to now after my doctor confirmed my endo diagnosis. If you can afford it and are eager to start, consider going ahead with the first dose and inquire with your insurance about covering the second. I had a smooth experience without any complications - I called to pay and they informed me that my insurance would cover it. :woman_shrugging:

Dealing with insurance can be challenging as we navigate through the administrative tasks. The outcome of coverage appeals can be unpredictable and very personal. I won’t share specifics, but personally I had a prescription covered but have yet to use it. Perhaps asking your doctor about different medication alternatives, such as daily injections of Lupron or Orilissa, could be worth considering as they are often covered when Lupron Depot is not. Best of luck with your decision!

I was diagnosed with endo and my treatment wasn’t considered infertility treatment under my lifetime benefit maximum. I used a manufacturer coupon and communicated with my pharmacy to cover the costs, which was a bit of a hassle but better than paying out of pocket. The coupon can be found here: LUPRON DEPOT® Copay Savings Card.

I was able to find mine on the Facebook IVF garage sale page for $300 per dose and saved a lot of money. You could also check out GoodRX or use a coupon on the Lupron website for other options.

We collected as many as possible and donated the majority to couples who needed them.
