Hey everyone, I recently found out I’m pregnant and I’m feeling overwhelmed by all the options for prenatal vitamins out there. I want to make sure I’m giving my baby the best start possible, so I’m looking for recommendations. What prenatal vitamins have worked well for you? Looking forward to hearing about your experiences!
I am currently taking the Megafood Baby & Me 2 prenatal supplement, which is made from whole foods. In addition, I am also taking supplemental folic acid and iodine, which are affordable and easy to swallow. While the Baby & Me 2 contains folate, I have chosen to double up on folic acid based on the studies I have read. Despite taking two prenatals a day, I have not experienced any stomach upset.
I have been advised by my endocrinologist to take Nature Made prenatal with DHA, which contains folic acid and is taken once a day.
I currently take Nature Made prenatal with folic acid, one pill daily. It’s a large pill, but coated to make swallowing easier. I also alternate with Best Nest Wellness prenatal containing methylfolate, in case of MTHFR gene variation. However, the Best Nest one has a strange taste, but it’s just one pill a day as well. I recommend checking them out!
I highly recommend the Jamieson brand if you are in Canada. The DHA version is the one I prefer.
I’m currently taking Baby & Me 2 by Megafood, a whole foods based prenatal, along with additional folic acid and iodine, which are both affordable and easy to take. Although Baby & Me 2 already contains folate, I prefer to take both folic acid and iodine for extra assurance. These prenatal vitamins are gentle on my stomach and I have no issues taking 2 a day.
I am prescribed Nature Made Prenatal with DHA by my endocrinologist. It contains folic acid and I only need to take one pill daily.
Take three pills of Thorne once a day.
I only take one Nature Made prenatal with folic acid per day, which is easy to swallow because it is coated. I switch it up with Best Nest Wellness prenatal with methylfolate for the MTHFR gene variation. The Best Nest one has a yucky taste, but it’s also just one pill a day. I recommend trying both!
You only need to take one Nature Made softgel prenatal pill per day! It’s that simple.
I am not aware of any supplement that is taken only once a day, but if one exists, please inform me!
The only gummies that didn’t give me stomach problems were Olly brand.
During my IVF journey, I used Theralogix preconception supplements, which were expensive but recommended by many reproductive endocrinologists. After the transfer, I switched to Ritual prenatal and added a generic folic acid for peace of mind. The citrus flavor of Ritual was the only one that didn’t cause me to have morning sickness during the first trimester.
Looking for a specific brand, can anyone recommend any?
Solaray works great for me! It’s easy on my stomach and only one pill!
I consume One A Day prenatal vitamins.
I consume gummy vitamins from Amazon.
My partner experimented with several prenatal vitamins during her IVF journey before settling on one from a brand called mama’s select. It contained clean ingredients, didn’t cause stomach issues, and didn’t have any hidden fillers like other brands.
Thorne is my favorite, period.
Baby Blues Complete Prenatal Gummies are the best and can be found on Amazon.
