Hey all, I’m sharing this to seek some insight and support. Lately, I’ve been experiencing some serious brain fog during my egg freezing process, and it’s been tough to handle. I’m curious to know: what days did you all find the brain fog to be the worst for you? I could really use some tips or personal anecdotes to help me navigate through this challenging time. Your experiences and advice would mean a lot to me right now. Thanks in advance!
I only take off work on the day of an emergency room visit.
I have never experienced brain fog. The need for taking time off depends on the job, your reaction to medication and the procedure. In most cases, you only need to take PTO on the day of the retrieval.
I couldn’t work for 5-6 days post-retrieval because of the pain, but I was able to work during the stims phase.
I didn’t have any problems with the stimulations or recovery after the egg retrieval. I didn’t take any PTO during the egg retrieval cycle except for one day, but I needed it for the transfers.
I share the same sentiment as the other commenters - I usually need the retrieval day and 2-3 days afterwards to recover. I feel okay during stimulation, just a little bloated.
My job as a physical therapist entails occasional heavy lifting, which is why I would often take a week off due to the pain, even though I did not experience brain fog.
I would consider taking a few days off after the ER. Prior to the ER, I was feeling physically uncomfortable, but work served as a good mental distraction (I am an engineer and can sit for long periods with minimal interactions if that clarifies).
