Feeling defeated after my third failed FET. As a single mom by choice, it’s been a tough journey. Surprisingly, there’s no known infertility issue. Where do I go from here? Any similar experiences or advice would be greatly appreciated.
I am frustrated that they discouraged testing and are doing two transfers at a time. I have doubts about my RE/clinic after this experience. The rate of euploidy at my age is around 50%, making all embryos a gamble. IVF is a numbers game and it feels like we are being taken advantage of with excessive transfers. They gave bad advice on PGTA in my opinion. It may be worth the low risk of a false negative to accurately identify genetically normal embryos. I feel for you and think it may be best to consider transferring your embryos somewhere else.
Could we please reconsider the risk versus benefit of PGT testing, especially considering the large number of embryos available and that six have not successfully implanted?
At 35 years old, I had 9 embryos and underwent genetic testing, resulting in 4 out of the 9 being genetically normal. I would have experienced 5 instances of no implantation or early miscarriage. Out of three embryos with the same grade, one was euploid, one was aneuploid, and one had a high mosaic level. The FET process was particularly difficult for me, so I sympathize with your struggles. Going through three unsuccessful attempts can be very challenging. My clinic typically only performs single transfers, so I would advise asking about a double transfer and considering testing the remaining embryos to ensure they are genetically normal. It can be tough when you are unsure about their genetic status. Have they tested the products of conception from your second FET?
Although I can’t find the exact articles at the moment, I remember reading that there is around a 10% risk involved in the thaw-biopsy-refreeze process. Even if you lose a couple embryos, you should still have a good number remaining. It might be a good idea to consult with your RE for more accurate information and guidance. Considering the previous failed transfers and the number of embryos available, taking this risk might be worth it.
I did! I will say my first attempt at a FET was cancelled bc of lining issues. But got back at it after the holidays and our 1st transfer worked!

Im 8 days post transfer today and not reall having any symptoms
My initial attempt was unsuccessful, leaving my heart broken .
