Questions and Confusions: Egg Donor Seeking Guidance

Hi everyone, I recently made the decision to become an egg donor and I have a lot of questions swirling in my mind. I would love to connect with others who have been through this process before or are currently considering it.
Some of the things I’m wondering about include the physical and emotional aspects of egg donation, any potential risks involved, and how to prepare myself for the journey ahead.
If you have any insights, advice, or even just a listening ear, I would greatly appreciate it! Let’s share our experiences and support each other through this unique and meaningful process. Thank you in advance for your help!

Most individuals likely have at least a few genetic diseases tucked away in their DNA. My husband and I have discovered 4 and 5 recessive diseases, respectively, but we remain in good health and shape. Keep in mind that many medical facilities may be taking time off at the end of the year, so expect delays in test results until after New Year’s. Remember to take care of yourself and have a joyful holiday season!

Since I am not part of your care or genetics team, I cannot provide a specific answer. However, the potential issue you may encounter is that RYR1 can be both dominant or recessive. It would be best to consult with genetic counselors for a more accurate response.
