I’m currently preparing for a frozen embryo transfer (FET) and wondering what others have experienced with Lupron Depot in combination with either estrogen or Letrozole. I’ve heard mixed opinions on which protocol works best. Would love to hear your thoughts and any tips you might have!
I recently started taking Lupron. Adding back hormones is intended to minimize side effects, not enhance the medication’s effectiveness.
I trust my doctor who has over 20 years of experience and has successfully performed this procedure many times. I used Lupron and estrogen for my FET, with the Lupron starting before the estrogen. I would recommend checking with your RE about any concerns or questions you have.
I used Lupron Depot in conjunction with Letrozole for 2 months, and I am unsure about the connection between estrogen and Lupron. However, there is a study that suggests slightly improved outcomes when combining Letrozole with Depot Lupron. Unless estrogen is being added back for severe side effects…
We used Lupron Depot following birth control for a few weeks to suppress FET, followed by a standard medicated FET protocol with estrogen and later PIO leading up to transfer, but not concurrently.
I’m currently taking 2 months of Lupron depot along with 5mg of letrozole, and I’ve heard that the results are better when Lupron is combined with letrozole. My doctor prescribed this regimen, and I think I’ll start estrogen after suppression for my FET. I don’t have my full protocol yet as I’m still in my first month.
Yesterday I completed my transfer, so I don’t have any updates on my success yet. However, during the process, my reproductive endocrinologist prescribed letrozole and Lupron depot. After 30 days of my final shot, I switched to estrogen injections. During the suppression phase, I did not take any estrogen or other medications.
