Have any of you tried incorporating red light therapy into your IVF journey? I’ve been researching the potential benefits and would love to hear about your experiences or insights. How did you find out about it? Any recommendations or cautionary tales to share? Let’s discuss the potential of this therapy in our fertility journeys.
I’m not sure about any specific studies conducted during a few days of partial stims.
I found that using the device for 5 minutes over each ovary region daily had positive results. My doctor agreed that it couldn’t hurt. My two 2.5 cm endometriomas that were stable for years have essentially disappeared on ultrasound. Additionally, my blast rate doubled from 20% to almost 40% after using the device. This was just my personal experience.
There is no scientific evidence to support the effectiveness of red light therapy on reproductive organs. Studies conducted by red light therapy companies lack credibility and don’t provide enough substantial proof.
I utilized an at-home lamp during stimulation leading up to my second egg retrieval, with results similar to the first retrieval. I wish I had known about this earlier and had my husband use it too for sperm health. Though the benefits of red light are known, research is limited on its specific impact on IVF. I also used a red light bed before my frozen embryo transfer, which resulted in my first successful transfer. It’s important to remember that outcomes are not entirely within our control. I turned to red light therapy after failed transfers and acupuncture. The linked study was the most detailed source I found during my research.
