Hey everyone, I’ve been thinking a lot about how often things actually work out on the first try when it comes to conceiving. It’s such an emotional rollercoaster of hope and disappointment, right? I know I’ve had my fair share of ups and downs, and I’m curious to hear about your experiences too. Have any of you been successful on the first cycle, or did it take multiple attempts? Share your stories and let’s support each other through this journey!
Just my opinion, but you might want to consider the possibility of needing another cycle. It often takes the first one to see how your body responds. The standard protocol may work initially for some, but adjustments can lead to better outcomes, as in my case. Good luck!.
Your AMH level is promising, indicating a good chance of only requiring one cycle for success; nevertheless, predicting outcomes is tricky.
I’m 40 years old and had success on my first cycle at a CCRM clinic. Surprisingly, I wasn’t mentally prepared for it to work on the first try. Have you asked your provider how many cycles it might take for someone with your health data to achieve average outcomes? My doctor said 1-2 cycles.
You have a good chance at 38, but it may take multiple cycles. I’m guessing you only want one child.
After a disappointing first cycle at one clinic, I switched to another clinic for my second cycle and was able to retrieve three high-quality embryos. The first frozen embryo transfer was successful, and I was 37 (almost 38) with an AMH of 1.56 when I started at the second clinic.
Out of the people I personally know, 9 have successfully had their first IVF embryo transfer. If you have a euploid embryo, your chances of success on the first try are high. I know two women, aged 40 and 46, who each had one euploid embryo transferred and successfully completed their families. I recommend focusing on your egg retrieval, transferring any euploid embryos, and taking it from there. My doctor mentioned a trial for my first embryo transfer, but I am confident that I will not need to go through another one.
It took me three cycles to finally get my first euploid. I agree with your doctor’s recommendation for 1-3 cycles of trying.
I also went through two cycles of egg retrieval with CCRM before feeling confident enough to proceed with the embryo transfer. It’s possible to have success with just one cycle, but it’s hard to predict until you try. Self-paying for treatment can be challenging, but there are success stories with one retrieval and transfer. Best of luck to you!
Hello! I have a similar AMH level, but a low AFC. I also have silent endometriosis. Fortunately, my husband’s sperm looks great, so I am grateful for that. I am getting ready for 1-2 cycles. Just for reference, I am 36 years old.
