Hey all, I wanted to open up a discussion about fertilization rates. I’ve been on my own journey, and I’m curious to hear about yours. What was your fertilization rate like? Did you encounter any challenges or surprises along the way? Let’s share our experiences and learn from each other!
I believe I got 6 eggs out of a dozen.
I retrieved 16 mature eggs out of the 24 collected.
Round 1 results: Out of 14 mature eggs, 9 were fertilized, resulting in 3 blastocysts, 1 of which was euploid and 1 had high-level mosaic.
Round 2 results: Out of 10 mature eggs, 7 were fertilized, resulting in 3 blastocysts, 1 of which was euploid and 1 had low-level mosaic.
I was 37 years and 8 months old during round 1, and 38 years and 1 month old during round 2. Despite being diagnosed with unexplained infertility, I am hopeful that someone in this community can offer insight into why my blastocyst formation rate is low.
I retrieved 22 eggs in total, with 15 being mature and 10 fertilized using ICSI. At 33 years old with PCOS and a tubal factor, my doctor mentioned that my mature to fertilized ratio was slightly lower than average.
Out of the initial 13 eggs, 8 were successfully fertilized resulting in 5 embryos!
ICSI had a success rate of 75% for 9 out of 12 cases.
I’ve heard that 80% is the usual average. We were able to fertilize 16 out of 18 mature eggs with ICSI, but our blast rate is on the lower end of normal, which I believe is more important than fertilization.
18 out of 23 embryos were deemed mature, concluding with 7 successful blasts and 6 normal embryos.
The ICSI procedure was performed on all embryos, resulting in 20 out of 21 being aneuploid blasts, 7 out of 16 failing to form blasts, and 8 out of 13 producing 3 euploid blasts and 1 HLM. The patient is between the ages of 40 and 41, with high AMH levels and is experiencing age-related infertility only.
In Round 1, 42 eggs were retrieved initially, with 20 mature ones. After some were lost due to thawing, 9 were fertilized out of the 15 mature ones that survived the thaw, resulting in 3 blasts and 1 euploid embryo. In Round 2, 24 eggs were retrieved and 10 were fertilized out of the 14 mature eggs. Currently awaiting results on the blasts and ploidy.
After the first egg retrieval, results showed that out of 26 eggs retrieved, 16 were mature, 9 were fertilized, resulting in 4 blasts, 2 low-level mosaic embryos, 1 aneuploid embryo, and 1 deemed non-informative. The doctor mentioned that none of them are currently transferable, except possibly the non-informative one after another PGTa test. Our journey involves male infertility and low sperm count/motility, leaving me feeling like I’ve wasted two years of my eggs at the age of 35.
I was 29 years old when I had PCOS and had over 30 follicles before egg collection. 17 eggs were collected, 3 were fertilized, and 2 embryos were created, although they were not tested. One embryo is frozen, while the other is my daughter.
In the first cycle, 11 eggs were retrieved, with 4 being mature and fertilized, resulting in 3 embryos. In the second cycle, 19 eggs were retrieved, 13 were mature and fertilized, and only 1 embryo was produced.
I had a high rate of fertilization, but a low number of retrieved and mature eggs due to my diminished ovarian reserve. During retrievals 3 and 4, I had all retrieved and mature eggs fertilize successfully. I am 32 years old with normal semen analysis. Each time I underwent ICSI and ended up with 2 embryos, which then had to undergo PGTM testing. Stay strong
.
24 were retrieved, 18 were mature, 16 were fertilized, and all 16 successfully made it to day 5 embryo transfer.
It would be best to remove TikTok as it is not a reliable source for information. Aim for about 80% fertilization, and you are getting close to that!
35.5 eggs were retrieved, 26 were retrieved but only 10 were fertilized. Eventually, 4 embryos developed and all 4 passed PGT-A testing successfully.
I retrieved 7 mature eggs out of 10.
During the first egg retrieval, 7 eggs were collected, 6 were deemed mature, 3 were successfully fertilized, but none were able to develop into blastocysts. In the second egg retrieval, 17 eggs were retrieved, 14 were mature, 10 were fertilized, 5 developed into blastocysts, and 3 were euploid.
