Hello everyone,
I wanted to share my recent experience with you all in the hopes that it might help someone going through a similar situation. I was scheduled for an IVF egg retrieval procedure when unexpectedly, the medical team decided to switch to IVC due to some unforeseen circumstances. It caught me off guard, and I was filled with a mix of emotions.
Has anyone else gone through a similar change in plans during their fertility treatment journey? I would love to hear your stories and how you coped with unexpected shifts in your treatment. Share your thoughts and support below.
What does IVC mean in this situation?
I was not familiar with IVC before, but it appears that the main distinction is the location of incubation - in your body as opposed to in the lab. Having a lower number of eggs does not seem to be a compelling reason for choosing IVC. Typically, individuals with only a few eggs opt for IUI in order to avoid the added expenses associated with retrieval.
