I recently found an old box of Cetrotide in my drawer that had expired a few months ago. I’m feeling a bit anxious about whether it’s still safe to use it. Has anyone else ever used expired Cetrotide or know if it’s still effective even after the expiration date? Your insights would be greatly appreciated!
I don’t have an answer to this question, but during FET cycles, I experienced breakthrough ovulation twice while using unexpired ganirelix and Cetrotide. I can’t imagine how much I would have blamed myself if I had used expired medication. Retrieval is a higher stakes procedure!
Consult with the pharmacist, as they will have the correct information. I found that when I began new cycles, my clinic requested details on the quantity, dosage, and expiration date of all medications I had. This information may be more important than we realize.
