Hey all,
I recently found out that my doctor is suggesting a Lupron-only trigger for my upcoming cycle. I’ve always used hCG before, so this is a new territory for me. Has anyone here experienced using Lupron as a trigger shot? I’d love to hear about your experiences and any tips you might have. Feeling a bit anxious about the change, so any insights would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
I used Lupron as the trigger for both of my egg retrievals because of high estrogen levels. I opted for a two-dose trigger of 80 units 12 hours apart and experienced no side effects. The benefit of this trigger is a quicker onset of menstruation compared to an HCG trigger, which helped reset my body sooner (I got my period exactly a week after both retrievals).
I experienced the same trigger at 1015, but I didn’t have any problems and didn’t even notice it. I just went to bed afterwards.
I have taken Lupron twice and experienced no side effects. I suggest avoiding the internet, as it has only caused me stress.
I did not experience any side effects from the lupron trigger, which was a pleasant surprise since I had not heard of it causing major side effects before. While there may be a small number of people who react poorly to a specific medication, I do not believe lupron is one that typically causes trouble. It’s possible you may be thinking of lupron depot, which is a different medication used to induce menopause for treating endometriosis. Overall, you probably have nothing to worry about.
I underwent Lupron triggers three times and experienced no side effects at all!
I used only Lupron triggers and had no problems at all! I am surprised to hear that many people have had issues with it.
I took 40 units in the morning and 40 units at night, experiencing no side effects except for bloating which I don’t think is related to Lupron.
I did not experience any side effects from the Lupron trigger, but I experienced terrible side effects from the Pregnyl trigger.
I experienced no side effects from the Lupron trigger, but did feel more discomfort towards the end of stimulations due to feeling full.
My wife went through a similar process last week. She experienced some bloating, cramping, and tender breasts, but overall nothing too serious.
Hey there! I recently took the same medication at the same dosage and didn’t have any issues. My husband did it slowly while I focused on my breathing, and I barely felt a thing. There was some redness afterwards, possibly due to the amount of fluid. You’ll do great on Tuesday morning for your retrieval!
I took two doses of Lupron, spaced 12 hours apart, and was concerned about potential side effects. However, I was relieved to experience no adverse reactions.
I didn’t experience any side effects, but the shot my husband gave me was a bit uncomfortable because he didn’t have the right technique, making it feel like there was a lot of fluid.
I tried it three times and didn’t encounter any problems. People vary in their experiences.
I had 80 units at 8pm and experienced no side effects.
I used lupron trigger for my first round without any side effects, and also did two months of lupron before a transfer with the same outcome. Best of luck to you!
My experience with IVF was successful overall, despite encountering a hemorrhagic cyst and severe pain during one retrieval with hcg. My doctor believed the trigger may have been a factor, but my estrogen levels were also elevated.
I recently did it last week because of high estrogen levels, and I felt a little dizzy but not too bad! Overall, stimulants made me very tired. The emergency room visit went well with it by the way. Best of luck
I experienced only four episodes of triggering with Lupron over the course of several years and never had any issues! It did make me slightly anxious, but that was the extent of it.
