I have my first Zoom appointment coming up, and I can’t shake off the nerves! It’s with a potential client for a freelance project, and I really want to make a great impression. Any tips on how to ace a virtual meeting like this? I’m worried about technical glitches, looking professional on camera, and just generally making sure I come across well. My initial appointment was done through a zoom/video visit, where our RE reviewed our health history and discussed the tests we had completed and still needed to do. While I had done a home Modern Fertility test beforehand, our RE recommended redoing any home tests in the lab for accuracy and insurance coverage during the infertility investigation stage. Zoom appointments can still result in lab orders and next steps being discussed.
In my case, starting at age 28, we completed all necessary labs and procedures before moving onto IUI and eventually IVF. The decision on next steps is ultimately up to you, and additional options can be explored after a comprehensive evaluation. Best of luck to you!
I resided a considerable distance from my clinic, resulting in online appointments with the doctor except for procedures and transfers. Lab orders were directly sent to the lab. During pregnancy, I visited a closer satellite site for ultrasounds with a nurse practitioner. I only saw my doctor in person around 4 times, which was fine by me.
My experience with having an initial consultation through zoom is quite common, as I have done it twice now with the same clinic. After the consultation, my clinic typically scheduled me to come in for labs, a carrier screen, and a baseline ultrasound within the week, although this timing may vary by clinic. I cannot provide an exact timeline from consultation to egg retrieval due to resolving some health issues prior to the procedure, but for me, it took about 2 months. Following this, there will be a waiting period of 6–8 weeks before the embryo transfer, assuming all goes well with our PGT-A testing.

I prefer having Zoom appointments despite the clinic’s proximity as it allows me to schedule them conveniently in between work meetings. I have attended a few in-person meetings, but I don’t see the necessity for them anymore.
