Feeling Nervous About First FET Tomorrow

Hey all, so tomorrow is the big day - my first FET (frozen embryo transfer). I must admit, I’ve been feeling a mix of excitement and nerves leading up to this moment. It’s been quite a journey to get here, and now that it’s finally happening, the feelings are overwhelming! Any words of encouragement or advice from those who have been through this would be greatly appreciated. Let’s share our experiences and support each other through this journey!

Make sure to arrive with a somewhat full bladder when you go for the transfer, but not overly full. I experienced a delay during my first successful transfer, which left me worried about peeing and physically uncomfortable. With my second successful transfer that unfortunately ended in a miscarriage, I made sure to hydrate more cautiously. The procedure itself is simple, just remember to take it easy and follow your clinic’s guidelines. Enjoy some fries after retrieval for the salt’s benefits, but remember that bedrest isn’t necessary - a little movement is good for you.

Hopefully everything goes smoothly for you! The procedure should be a breeze compared to the egg retrieval. You don’t need to bring anything, except maybe some fuzzy socks for good luck. Avoid high impact activities, but don’t feel like you need to be on bedrest. Gentle exercises like walking can actually be beneficial. As for the waiting period before testing, try to keep yourself busy to distract yourself.

I quickly went in and out of the room in about 15 minutes, only bringing my purse. The worst part was having a full bladder, I thought I might accidentally pee on the doctor! It’s just a fun superstition about McDonald’s fries and won’t affect the transfer. Your doctor will advise you on post-transfer activities, so make sure to follow their instructions. My doctor recommended light activity for a few hours after the transfer. I just continued with my usual foods and even had pizza that week because my husband loves pizza. Just went back to normal life. Good luck!

I’m going in for my second transfer tomorrow! Wishing you good luck. They allowed me to use the restroom a few times before the procedure due to my full bladder and a slight delay. The Valium helped with anxiety and I felt mostly normal. Fingers crossed for both of our successes! :crossed_fingers:t3:

I disagree with the idea of complete bed rest after FET. I got pregnant on my first try at 41 and believe that gentle movements and walking are better for blood flow. Don’t stress too much if you decide to test during the two-week wait, it can be tough. I kept myself busy during that time and eventually received a low beta that luckily increased. I’m currently 33 weeks pregnant. So my advice is to try not to constantly test at home and torture yourself.

I test on the 4th day past transfer because I had a positive test on that day previously. I want to determine if it’s a chemical pregnancy if it doesn’t work out. It doesn’t matter what I do that day, but I’ve never had fries after a test, but this time I’m craving McDonald’s. Good luck! My transfer is also today.

My first FET two days ago went smoothly and easily. The doctor was very cool, talking to me throughout the process and showing me the ultrasound machine while dropping the embryos. Now I just hope it will be successful.

The procedure was so quick that it took me longer to remove and put back on my trousers and underwear. My clinic recommends taking it easy for the first few days but not strict bed rest. I usually walk a lot and continued to do so after the transfer, as gentle walking is believed to be good for implantation. My husband and I are cautious due to a previous miscarriage, so we didn’t ask many questions during the procedure and almost forgot to take a photo of the embryo. So far, the lines on my tests are getting darker, but we will confirm with a call to the clinic on Wednesday and schedule a scan for 7 weeks to check everything is ok.

I had my first FET last week and ended up drinking way too much, which made the process uncomfortable as I had to pee badly during the transfer. My husband enjoyed watching on the screen, but I was tense and worried about peeing. After the transfer, I took a nap, did some chores, and had a light workout later that night.

Heading in for my second transfer twins tomorrow. Wishing us both good luck!

Wishing you the best of luck! Sending lots of baby dust your way.

Best of luck to you! Make sure to relax with a leisurely walk and unwind by watching a movie or TV show in bed with some delicious snacks for the remainder of the day (I ended up getting McDonald’s afterwards, as many of us tend to do here lol).
