Hi everyone, I could really use some advice or insights. Recently, I underwent an ICSI procedure, and unfortunately, there was no sperm egg interaction. I’m feeling pretty disheartened and unsure about what steps to take next. Has anyone else experienced this outcome or knows more about it? Any tips or personal stories would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your support.
I apologize for the unfortunate results of your cycle. I am not an expert in embryology, but I suspect they did not observe 2 pronuclei (2PN) during the fertilization check. Check out the information on the website link provided for more details.
I apologize for the result. It seems like fertilization may have not been successful. Even with ICSI, there is only a 60% success rate, which is not guaranteed. I’m not sure if this indicates an issue with the egg, sperm, or just general statistics. From what I’ve heard, using ICSI with Zymot may be more effective. Zymot is a low-cost addition that helps with reducing sperm DNA fragmentation.
I’m not familiar with that wording, but I’ve experienced multiple cycles with low fertilization rates. I am older and have diminished ovarian reserve. The clinic had my husband follow an ejaculation protocol, increasing the frequency leading up to egg retrieval. This improved fertilization rates. In our latest cycle, I used growth hormone which also improved fertilization. I recommend inquiring about these options for your situation.
