Feeling Anxious and Hopeful: Navigating the Two Week Wait

Hey all,
Going through the two week wait can be a rollercoaster of emotions - from hopeful anticipation to anxious uncertainty. It’s that limbo period where every twinge or symptom can feel like a sign, but also a time when patience is truly put to the test. How do you cope with the waiting game? Share your experiences, tips, and support here. Let’s navigate this together and lend each other strength during this challenging time. Remember, you’re not alone in this journey. Share away!"

I had my first ever transfer/FET on Monday and was advised to avoid doing the things I love and that keeps me sane - reformer pilates and heated sculpt. What does everyone else do for exercise during the 2 week wait that are “allowed”?

Hopefully this won’t get deleted like before

TW: Miscarriage, but not IVF related.

TLDR; Very long and complicated journey to this wait time.

Hi all,

I’m in the dreaded two-week wait, hopefully cooking up my one little 3AA embryo. What a journey it has been just to get to this point.

I’m 40, with low ovarian reserve since being tested at 35, and we’ve been trying for God knows how many years using many different approaches. We managed to get pregnant naturally once, but it ended in a miscarriage at 5 weeks.

IVF has probably been the worst of those approaches, luck-wise.

For some background, I’m in Ontario, Canada, where you get one fully funded IVF cycle.

Cycle 1: Only one egg grew, so they cancelled the cycle to preserve the funding since you get two chances with the medication protocol.

Cycle 2: They switched me to a new microdosing protocol that actually grew six full-sized follicles. They told us this was our best shot and that we should go ahead with IVF. We agreed, and they told us to wait for the medications. So we waited… and waited. Even the pharmacy was confused about why they weren’t sending them, only that the clinic was deciding something.

That “something” turned out to be trying to secure the allotted funding. Because it was the end of the funding year, they had run out of money and had to cancel the cycle. Since it was their mistake for not checking beforehand, they said we could do another cycle. Boy, did that doctor get an earful about getting our hopes up without first confirming funding was available.

Cycle 3: Four full-sized follicles grew. Not amazing, but at least it was something. They were all around 20 mm across the board. We got prepped for egg retrieval. I’m drugged up on the table only to find out I’d already ovulated. My body overrode the trigger shot and released them all. Since they never performed the retrieval, they advocated for it not to count and told us we’d get one more Hail Mary shot.

Cycle 4 – Project Hail Mary

Here we are. This cycle didn’t start out promising, with only two follicles growing initially, but my AFC was the highest we’d ever seen (12 on the right, 8 on the left). During my other cycles, I was lucky to have an AFC of 2–4 per side. So it was promising, but also disappointing at first.

Those two follicles turned into eight by the end and 6 made it to ER time.

They had me double-dosing Cetrotide and put me on a 34-hour trigger-to-retrieval schedule. Egg retrieval happened and was much less dramatic this time. My husband told me that during the procedure I kept asking them to prove the eggs were still there.

We ended up retrieving five eggs. Three were mature, and only one fertilized.

We nicknamed it Tommy from the Power Rangers because the Green Ranger was always my favourite. Our little guy made it to a 3AA embryo on transfer day. The transfer went well, and here we are at 6dp5dt with bloodwork scheduled for the 15th.

This wait has been the worst. We’re choosing to talk as if it worked, and of course I’m mentally noting every pain, twinge, and symptom even if I shouldn’t. I know the statistics aren’t on our side, but I want this little embryo to make it so badly. The anxiety has definitely been real.

Anyway, no questions. I just wanted to tell my story. I don’t plan on home testing cause I don’t think I could take the added stress.

If you pray, or believe in universal energy, I’ll gladly take whatever you’ve got.

7dpt5dp does anyone see a faint line or am I tripping? My beta is tomorrow and I haven’t tested since bc I’m too nervous

Just tested on 7dpt (our 7th transfer!!!) we’ve had such a hard history of MMC and chemical pregnancies. please please please let this be our time!

I had my transfer on Monday July 6. Maybe 10 minutes after I started walking and needed to stop as my right pelvis area feels like it was pinched. Yesterday (Tuesday), I was okay walking but I still felt pinching that came and went. There was a pretty intense one at night. Today, I feel pinching but I can walk. It comes and goes. Is this a normal side effect from the procedure?

Last Friday was our fourth embryo transfer (euploid). So far, I had been in such a good mental space, meditated, went to acupuncture, lots of affirmations, and was really feeling at peace. Then this morning got a BFN on FRER 5dp5dt and all that went out the window lol. Now I don’t know how to feel. How to stay sane until beta this Sunday??

TW: failed/maybe?

I’m 8dp5dt, I’ve tested yesterday (day 7) with a First Response test and it came back negative.
This is my second medicated FET, and my last. I don’t want to go into debt, if it’s meant to be for us then i would have been.
I feel defeated. I havent told my wife (we are both females), she’s too excited, she talks to my super bloated belly everyday. We have our beta this Friday, but dang… I just feel empty.
Im aware that the PIO causes all the symptoms but I was really hoping this one had stick.
I’m still hoping for a miracle by Friday but… I’m aware that it might not happen.

To all who are going through this, I’m sending you all my love and hugs! :glowing_star:

BFN today 4dp6dt. I feel like I’m out😭

Has anyone here experienced the following during a failed transfer: 1) the feeling that the frequency of the other being is gone, 2) a sense of “relaxation” in the womb, 3) the uterus trying to “eject” the embryo during sleep ?

I want to believe

Still tested negative today at 7dp5dt. Do I have any hope or should I just accept I’m out?

I know this probably isn’t relevant but I have an Oura ring and this morning my temp dipped below baseline whereas all the days leading up to today my bbt has been high. I don’t want to over speculate that maybe it was a potential late implantation because I highly doubt it but just trying to hold out any hope.

I’d like to hear some stories of success after negative 7dpt or just plain honesty if this transfer most likely failed

4dp5dt test

4AA Fet , 4dp5dt , Is this the faint line I’m waiting for or am I hallucinating ?

My husband and I can clearly see better than the one we did in the morning, however I feel like my eyes are playing games with me .

Morning time I did the FRER I can see a line but it is very hard to tell if it’s even there so can’t rely on that Evening I decided to try with different type and BAM I think I see the faintest line! Please help in looking at it with me :crossed_fingers: :right_arrow_curving_down:

I had my transfer on Tuesday the 30th at 5:00 p.m. It was a 5-day blastocyst with assisted hatching. My beta is scheduled for next Friday.

This morning I took a home pregnancy test (10 mIU/mL sensitivity) using my first morning urine, and it was negative. I couldn’t resist testing, and I was hoping I might see a faint line, even though I technically wouldn’t be 5 days past transfer until 5:00 p.m. I felt a bit discouraged.

Did any of you test before your beta? When did you first get a positive? The only medications I’m taking are Meriestra and progesterone.

Thank you for reading.

5dp6dt with a Day 6 fully hatched euploid. I had a 10,000 IU Pregnyl hCG wash the day before transfer (6 days ago) and have been testing it out. The lines faded quickly at first, but I can still see a faint line today. All Wondfos are FMU; FRER Day 4 and 5 are both SMU. Does this look like a normal wash fade, or has anyone had a similar progression that turned into a pregnancy?

I’m 10dp5dt and I had brown spotting this morning. I also had the tiniest brown spotting on 8dp5dt as well. I’m terrified I’m out. I did have pink spotting 2dp5dt that was gone by 3dpt, then nothing until this recent spotting. I’m so sad that it’s my period trying to come through, as I have no other symptoms

Well, there goes my third (untested) FET. 3DP5DT today. At this point I’m convinced it’s just not going to work and actively fighting myself about whether to test early or not. I’d be losing my shit even worse if I hadn’t managed to get a new stims round lined up for if this one fails.

I turn 40 in a couple of weeks and if I have another retrieval it’ll probably be just a few days after my birthday.

Looking for a little reassurance while I wait for my repeat beta on Tuesday.
My 9dp5dt beta was 24 (progesterone 33), so my clinic said it’s positive but wants to make sure it’s doubling.
Since then I’ve completely spiralled. I had a Clearblue Digital “Pregnant” yesterday, but today I got a **“Not Pregnant”**after testing midday when I’d had lots to drink. My First Response has stayed very faint too.
Has anyone had a similar experience and gone on to have a healthy pregnancy? Trying to stay hopeful until Tuesday. :white_heart::sparkles:
Sending baby dust to everyone!
