Excited News: Kaiser California Offers IVF Coverage During Open Enrollment!

Hey everyone, I just wanted to share some fantastic news! Kaiser California has started covering IVF treatments, effective immediately as part of their open enrollment. This is a game-changer for many in our community who have been facing financial barriers when pursuing fertility treatments.
The inclusion of IVF coverage by Kaiser California is a significant step towards making assisted reproductive technology more accessible and affordable for individuals and couples seeking to start a family. Whether you’ve been considering IVF for a while or it’s a new option on your fertility journey, this news opens up new possibilities for many.
If you’re a Kaiser member in California or know someone who is, don’t miss this opportunity to explore

Thank you for your question! Are you purchasing Kaiser as an individual? Will this coverage be determined by the company you are employed by?

The timing of when your plan renews is crucial, typically occurring after your open enrollment period. In my case, open enrollment is in November, but my plan doesn’t renew until January 1. According to information obtained from Kaiser member services, my IVF coverage should start in January as a result. For plans renewing between July 1, 2025, and December 31, 2025, Kaiser is currently implementing IVF coverage. However, I remain cautious until I receive confirmation.

Just letting you know that Kaiser South California is outsourcing their IVF services to HRC Fertility.

I am covered for Kaiser fertility treatment up to IUI, but there is only one available RE in OC with a wait time of six months for appointments and a year out for treatment. She does IVF on the side but is not accepting new patients. It seems unlikely that I will be able to do IVF through Kaiser unless they accept out-of-network coverage or expand their infertility department like in NorCal.

Can you provide more information on how state employee coverage will start before 2027? What does the coverage include?
