I’m currently in the early stages of planning for a frozen embryo transfer (FET) and I find myself torn between choosing a Day 5 3AA embryo or a Day 6 4AA embryo. I’ve been researching and reading different opinions, but I’d love to hear from those who have been through similar experiences. Is one option generally considered better than the other? What factors should I consider when making this decision? Your insights would be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance.
The decision is ultimately up to the lab, but it is likely they will choose day 5 based on their knowledge of the context and not just the grades and days.
I would look up information online regarding this. I think it may be 4AA. We have an 8 week old baby sleeping next to us who is 4AB.
The decision on which embryo to choose should be left to the embryologist based on their expertise. In my own limited experience, a day 6 4AA embryo was more successful for me compared to a day 5 3AA embryo, resulting in two live births and one chemical pregnancy. However, this is just my personal experience and may not be the same for everyone. Ultimately, the clinic chose which embryo to transfer.
I think that embryos on day 5 typically have better outcomes than embryos on day 6, just like a 4AA embryo is usually better than a 3AA embryo. However, it’s always best to trust your embryologist to make the final decision. I get confused by these questions because I assumed my embryologist always chose the best option, but now I’m not so sure.
The day 5 embryos would be transferred by my clinic first.
My clinic prefers to schedule appointments on Day 5.
