Dealing with Lovenox bruises - Can I use ice for relief?

Hey everyone,
I recently started Lovenox injections and, man, the bruises can be painful! I’m wondering if anyone has tried using ice to help with the soreness and discoloration. Does icing actually work with Lovenox bruises, or should I stick to other methods like warm compresses? Any tips or experiences you can share would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I hope someone else can provide the answer for us because I’m also interested in knowing. I’ve been icing every lovenox shot for the past week. It really burns a lot.

Before and after every procedure, I have always applied ice to the injection site.

I used to hate using lovenox, but I have found a solution that works for me. I now grab a large section of my stomach when injecting, leaving about a two inch space of fat around the injection site. I inject slowly for about 10 to 15 seconds, and then release the chunk of stomach. This method has helped reduce pain and bruising in comparison to my previous technique.

I prefer using lidocaine instead of ice for injections, as it is more effective and safer for the embryo. Lidocaine also helps prevent bruising. After two weeks of lovenox injections, I found that using lidocaine before injecting makes the process more bearable and reduces bruising. Here are some tips: 1. Apply lidocaine cream to numb the area before injecting. 2. Wipe off any drops of medicine on the needle before injecting. 3. Remove the needle quickly and apply pressure to the injection site. 4. Avoid rubbing the area after injecting, as it can worsen bruising. I hope these tips help!
