Cabergoline Before Egg Retrieval: My Experience

Hey all, I’m curious to hear about your experiences with taking Dostinex or Cabergoline before egg retrieval. I’ve been prescribed this medication for the first time, and I’m feeling a mix of nerves and excitement. How did it go for you? Any tips or insights to share? Let’s chat!

Cabergoline did not cause any nausea for me, but I felt extremely drowsy while on it.

I began taking cabergoline on trigger day and experienced no nausea. I was initially worried about this medication but had heard that taking it vaginally might be helpful, so that’s the approach I took, right before bedtime. I didn’t notice any symptoms or develop OHSS.

After my third egg retrieval, I decided to take it to avoid OHSS, but it made me extremely nauseous. I checked with my doctor about stopping it early because it was making me feel worse. Thankfully, my follow-up ultrasound showed minimal fluid, so I was given the okay to stop. I hope you have a smoother experience.
